Knife Island Light by Lynne Rusk
Artwork Description
Knife Island, Northern Bruce Peninsula, ON 44° 58' 1.92'', -81° 23' 21.11''
Boaters navigating the local waters still use the Knife Island lighthouse, which is considered the front-range light for Stokes Bay for marine navigation. This painting reflects the highest water levels we've experienced since the lighthouse was built in 1904. Local efforts started in 2015, restoring this historic lighthouse to its present condition.
