Major Resource for Hikers - Read the General Information for Hikers web page.
Looney/Tooney Hikes Continue - Our snowshoe hikes will continue to be Looney/Tooney Hikes. On a strictly voluntary basis, participating hikers may donate to the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club's fund raising campaign as part of our club's commitment to contribute to the BTC goal to secure the trail. This program is for the future reservation of the Bruce Trail on escarpment lands.
BTC - Securing a Conservation Corridor on the Niagara Escarpment The Bruce Trail Conservancy’s mission is to secure and protect a conservation corridor along the Niagara Escarpment that contains the oldest hiking Trail in Canada - the Bruce Trail. Almost 900 km long, the Trail runs along the Niagara Escarpment, designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in 1990. Only 48% of the Trail is on secured public land - the remainder is routed over private property through the generous permission of many landowners. The BTC is committed to securing the remaining portion of the Trail by purchase or donation. Help us preserve the Trail in perpetuity. Visit the BTC website for more details. |
