2010 Hike Schedule

Note: On all hikes, bring plenty of water, snacks and a lunch, if required. Wear sturdy hiking footwear, and dress in layers.

Looney/Tooney Hikes Continue - Our Easy Walks and hikes, other than the End to End Hikes, will continue to be Looney/Tooney Hikes. On a strictly voluntary basis, participating hikers may donate to the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club's fund raising campaign as part of our club's commitment to contribute to the BTC goal to secure the trail. This program is for the future reservation of the Bruce Trail on escarpment lands.

Peninsula End to End Hikes - Also, as part of the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club's Legacy Campaign, we request a donation of $10.00 per hike for our End to End schedule. In past years our intrepid End to Enders have raised between $1,200 and $1,500 for the BTC goal to secure the trail.

BTA Realize the Dream by 2015

The Bruce Trail Conservancy’s mission is to secure and protect the oldest hiking Trail in Canada. Over 800 km long, the Trail runs along the Niagara Escarpment, designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in 1990. Only 46% of the Trail is on public land - the remainder is routed over private property through the generous permission of many landowners. Realize the Dream by 2015 is our strategy to secure the remaining portion of the Trail by purchase or donation, in 15 years. Help secure the last 433 km of Trail to preserve the Trail in perpetuity. Donate $25 and save one footstep of the Trail. Every footstep that you donate will be matched by grants/donations from the provincial government, major corporations, foundations and other non-government partners. Visit the BTA website for more details.
